In the Bible Jesus did not speak specifically about gay people, but He did warn judgmental people, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” It is not the Christian’s place to judge other people.
Every person on this planet can have their own personal relationship with God. This applies to all people, regardless of their sexuality, colour, social standing, troubled conscience, or previous religion. Jesus said He would never turn anyone away. This is what the Bible says. If a particular church disagrees, the Bible always takes precedence.
Jesus said “I will never turn away anyone who comes to me.” John 6,37
It is a tragedy that gay people are deterred from going to Jesus because they think they are not welcome. One of the things He said was “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Note the word “everyone”. Jesus wouldn’t have said it if He hadn’t meant it.
