The invisible but energising force of God's Spirit brought about the creation of the universe: the "life force", if you like.
In the New Testament there is a promise. St.Paul tells the people of Corinth in 2 Corinthians chapter 3 verse 18 "All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces, and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into His likeness, in an ever greater degree of glory". Jesus' disciples had been filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentacost, after Jesus had ascended to heaven. When we invite Jesus to come into our lives the Holy Spirit will dwell within us too.
The Holy Spirit
1) transforms from within. He creates the very character of Jesus in our lives, so that "fruit" begins to grow. See Galatians chapter 5 verses 22 and 23: "The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control". What wonderful fruit!!
2) brings inner experience of God. See Romans chapter 8 verse 16. But take note, the experience is different for everyone. You really do have a unique relationship with the loving Father.
